W.O.W. is more than an intercessory prayer group. We are a group of believers who work obediently, graciously, and effectively to win souls for our Lord and Savior while perfecting, strengthening, and edifying the body of Christ.
We are called to pray, encourage, and minister to women who have suffered or are suffering from broken and abusive relationships, health challenges, depression, low self-esteem, and other issues. We are also called to unify women together from different backgrounds, races, and churches. We empower each woman to win one woman to Jesus Christ with the understanding that “If Everyone Won One Soul, Every Soul Would Be Won!”
Intercession is prayer that pleads with God for your needs and the needs of others. However, it is also much more than that. Intercession involves taking hold of God’s will and refusing to let go until His complete will comes to pass.
Intercession is warfare – the key to God’s battle plan for our lives. However, the battleground is not of this Earth. The Bible says, “We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and spiritual powers in the heavens above.” (Eph. 6:12)
Intercessory prayer takes place in this spiritual world where the battles for our own lives, our families, our friends and our nation are either won or lost.
An intercessor is one who takes the place of another or pleads another’s case through consistent and faith-filled prayer. One bible study defines intercession as “holy, believing, persevering prayer where by someone pleads with God on behalf of another or others who desperately need God’s intervention.”
The Bible declares that men ought to always pray and not faint. The apostle Paul begins to admonish us to pray for those in positions of authority so we may lead a quiet and peaceful life. Now is the time for us to pray! If there has ever been a time to seek the Lord, that time is now. Jesus spoke a parable about the ten virgins and how five had extra oil and the five that remained only had enough oil for right then. We need extra oil today! We need an extra anointing to fulfill the work that God has commissioned us to take on. We see that both groups of women had the same opportunity to fill their lamps, but only the wise virgins took heed to the warning and overcame. It’s time for us to pray and communicate to the Father while standing in the gap for our families, our children, our finances, our communities, our cities, our states, countries, our nation, and our churches for the salvation of them all.
Who will stand watch in these last days, days that are filled with uncertainty and promise? Who will stand? Come join us for intercessory prayer and become a W.O.W. woman.
